Charlie watched Charlotte's Web for the first time last week. She was really into watching Wilbur and Fern. When Fern had to put Wilbur outside to sleep, Charlie started to cry. I was surprised at her emotions, or more just the fact that she had such an appropriately strong emotion about something sad for a child. I didn't think much more about it after that. Charlie didn't watch the movie much longer and it was onto playing with something else.
Well....tonight she asked to watch "Charlotte" (how'd she know how to say that??) again. I put it in and the same thing. Fern put Wilbur to bed outside and Charlie cried. She continued to be emotional about Wilbur sleeping outside everytime a scene with him sleeping was on. Pretty soon she started to say "blanket" when he was sleeping and then she would cry. I guess she wanted Wilbur to have a blanket to sleep and it was bothering her that he wasn't covered up! She never did get over it for the entire movie. I guess Charlie's comfort is her "magic blanket!" (Thanks Aunt Jeanne!) (The "magic blanket" is a super soft blanket with silk edges that Charlie has had since she was born....a gift from my Aunt Jeanne. She loves to cart it around everywhere and has to sleep with it. I would take a picture of it to show you, but she is sleeping with it as I type......can't disturb that!)

That is so cute! I don't know that you are that emotional about stuff like that, so we'll blame it on Aunt Deeda. Piper's got a little bit of that too, so don't feel bad Charlie. Being so intouch with your girly side is a good thing!
I'm really impressed that she took it that seriously! I'm also impressed w/ the words you say she says. Lucy did not speak that well last year at this time. What a smart child you have!
